Background of the Study
Agriculture is the backbone of rural economies, contributing significantly to food security, employment, and income generation. In Gassol Local Government Area (LGA), Taraba State, financial accountability in agricultural funding is essential for ensuring resources are used effectively to enhance productivity. Financial accountability involves transparent reporting, efficient allocation of funds, and the prevention of mismanagement or corruption. Despite substantial investments in agriculture, challenges such as misallocation of resources, inadequate support for farmers, and low productivity persist in Gassol LGA. This study explores the relationship between financial accountability and agricultural productivity in the area.

Statement of the Problem
Agricultural productivity in Gassol LGA remains low despite various government and private sector initiatives. This shortfall is often attributed to weak financial accountability, which undermines the effective use of resources.
